Welcome to the Prior Lake, Minnesota New Horizon Academy! Our school is conveniently located off 140th St NE and Pike Lake Trail NE near Knob Hill Park Playground. We have been serving Prior Lake children and families since 2005. With beautiful classrooms, highly trained teachers, rigorous health and safety procedures, and national accreditations, we know your family will feel right at home at New Horizon Academy! Our Prior Lake early childhood center has two infant childcare rooms, two toddler childcare rooms, four preschool rooms, and one school-age room. We use a research-based daycare curriculum that includes STEAM, reading, social-emotional learning, and more – all with the goal of preparing young children for kindergarten and beyond! I joined the New Horizon Academy family in the spring of 2021 with over 30 years of experience in the field of Early Childhood Education. It is a pleasure to be working in the same community that I have lived in for over 25 years and to be able to see our NHA families while out and about in our community. Our Prior Lake early childhood center is open Monday-Friday every day with the exception of nine holidays:
*On Christmas Eve, New Horizon Academy closes at 3:00 p.m.
*If one of these holidays falls on a weekend, it will be observed on either Friday or Monday.
*Our school will remain open during inclement weather to ensure children still have access to quality childcare.
Our Prior Lake school offers both full-time and part-time schedules to accommodate the different needs of our families.

Yes! At New Horizon Academy Prior Lake, we have an on-site cook trained in nutrition, USDA guidelines, and proper portions for young children. Our school provides nutritious and nourishing meals every day including breakfast, lunch, and snack. All meals are included in the cost of tuition.
If your child has a special nutritional need, a food allergy, or requires adaptation to our menu, please alert our school director, and we will partner with your family to create a suitable meal plan.
