Welcome to our school in Overland Park, Kansas! Since opening in January 2024, our dedicated teachers and early childhood professionals have been committed to providing high-quality daycare and preschool programs for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years. We are conveniently located on the corner of 119th Street and Quivira Road, primarily serving families in Overland Park and Johnson County. Each of our childcare programs is designed to nurture and prepare children for kindergarten, by using a comprehensive curriculum that incorporates STEAM, reading, social-emotional learning, motor development, and more. We are actively pursuing NAEYC accreditation, which requires a minimum of one year in operation. In the meantime, our school is committed to ensuring that our infant, toddler, preschool, and pre-k programs align with the highest standards of quality and care. I love working in an environment where I can make a difference in someone’s life, whether it helps now or is something that helps them later in life. I enjoy learning new skills and striving to achieve new accomplishments because, just four years ago, there were many things I couldn’t do. Now that I can, I never want to miss an opportunity to try something new. I love that my team is always ready to help wherever needed, knowing I would never ask them to do something I wouldn’t do myself. One fun fact about me is that I used to clown in college, and now I’m the one who wears all the random costumes for different events!

What do you like about early childhood?
I love watching the process children go through as they learn new skills. It is amazing to watch them not only accomplish that skill but also be able to role model it for their peers.
What makes your school unique?
Our school feels like one big family, where everyone is always willing to step in and assist wherever the need is greatest for the day. The teachers know all the children and at least on unique fact about each of them.

My husband and I have three dogs. We are big home bodies and enjoy doing house and yard projects, watching movies, and hosting family game nights! We welcomed a sweet baby girl to our family in February 2025!

Our daughter has been attending New Horizon Academy Overland Park since it opened, and we love it here! The facility is always clean and well-organized, with a variety of engaging activities to keep the kids entertained and learning. They have numerous outdoor and indoor play areas as well, allowing the kids to change environments throughout the day. Communication is great; they provide updates and pictures all day, so as a parent, you don’t feel like you’re missing a thing! I also appreciate that they work with us on coordinating care regarding developmental milestones. I’ve recommended this daycare to multiple families!
We love New Horizon Academy and so does our little boy! Every day as we are pulling into the parking lot, he says, “I love my school!”. The facility is beautiful and clean, and the staff is caring and well-trained. We had a bad experience at our last daycare so I had my guard up, but New Horizon Academy has restored my faith in safe and caring daycares! We couldn’t be more pleased with our experience.
Amazing childcare center! All staff are caring, knowledgeable, and supportive. My daughter has been going to the Overland Park location since it opened and we could not be any happier. Her teacher cares about her wellbeing, and I love how they use Conscious Discipline in the classroom with the children. You should definitely send your children here.
