New Horizon Academy is coming to Ankeny, Iowa! As a nationally recognized childcare provider with 100+ locations, we are excited to bring our high-quality daycare, preschool, and early education programs to families in Ankeny and surrounding areas. Children ages 6 weeks to 10 years will be guided by skilled teachers using a comprehensive curriculum that includes social-emotional learning, STEAM, reading, motor development, school readiness skills, and more. Our classrooms are being thoughtfully designed and constructed to prioritize safety and foster a love for learning. While our new Ankeny school is under construction, you are welcome to schedule a tour at any of our five nearby locations in the Des Moines area. Stay tuned for the latest updates on our grand opening! We are conveniently located off US 69 and NW 36th St, near Rock Creek Elementary, and are currently scheduled to open in spring 2025.

I live in Elk River with my fiancé, Dave, and son, Jack. We go up to our cabin on Mille Lacs Lake every weekend. We love to go boating, fishing, and hang out at the cabin. When we are not up north, I enjoy cooking and spending time with friends.

My name is Lexi, and I am the assistant director of our Corcoran location. I have the privilege of not only being a part of our Corcoran school family, but also being a parent whose child attends this school. Previously, I was an infant teacher at one of our surrounding schools for 5 years before going on to attain my degree in Early Childhood Education. This spring I had the opportunity to help open up our Corcoran location and truly have loved every minute of this new journey.

Our Aurora early childhood center is open Monday-Friday every day with the exception of nine holidays:
*On Christmas Eve, New Horizon Academy closes at 3:00 p.m.
*If one of these holidays falls on a weekend, it will be observed on either Friday or Monday.
*Our school will remain open during inclement weather to ensure children still have access to quality childcare.
Our Aurora school offers both full-time and part-time schedules to accommodate the different needs of our families.

Yes! At New Horizon Academy Aurora, we have an on-site cook trained in nutrition, USDA guidelines, and proper portions for young children. Our school provides nutritious and nourishing meals every day including breakfast, lunch, and snack. All meals are included in the cost of tuition.
If your child has a special nutritional need, a food allergy, or requires adaptation to our menu, please alert our school director, and we will partner with your family to create a suitable meal plan.
