Welcome to the Minneapolis – Downtown East New Horizon Academy! Our brand-new daycare and early learning center opened in August 2023 and has since been serving families both living and working downtown with quality childcare and education. Our school is conveniently located off 7th and Portland on the ground level of the Moment Apartments in the downtown east neighborhood of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Learning programs are available for children ages 6 weeks to 5 years, including infant, toddler, preschool, and pre-kindergarten options. Each classroom utilizes a comprehensive curriculum incorporating STEAM, reading, social-emotional learning, motor development, school readiness, and more. Our school is in the process of obtaining NAEYC accreditation and is committed to meeting and exceeding the highest standards of education and care for your child. While I am originally from Stillwater, Minnesota, I enjoy being part of the Minneapolis community. I love boating on the St. Croix River with my partner, Bryan. Although we are now empty nesters, we like to stay busy by being active, attending live concerts, and taking our dog, Blue, on walks. I believe in making the best out of each day for myself and others, always looking for the silver linings.

Our downtown Minneapolis center is open Monday-Friday every day with the exception of nine holidays:
*On Christmas Eve, New Horizon Academy closes at 3:00 p.m.
*If one of these holidays falls on a weekend, it will be observed on either Friday or Monday.
*Our school will remain open during inclement weather to ensure children still have access to quality childcare.
Our Minneapolis school offers both full-time and part-time schedules to accommodate the different needs of our families.

Yes! At New Horizon Academy Minneapolis (Downtown East), we have an on-site cook trained in nutrition, USDA guidelines, and proper portions for young children. Our school provides nutritious and nourishing meals every day including breakfast, lunch, and snack.
If your child has a special nutritional need, a food allergy, or requires adaptation to our menu, please alert our school director, and we will partner with your family to create a suitable meal plan.
