I have two children – Christopher and Meghan. I have a beautiful granddaughter, Braelynn who is 7. I live in Lakeville. I am obsessed with anything Disney. In my spare time, I love to cook, bake, decorate cookies, make crafts, sew, read, listen to podcasts, and be in the sun.

What do you like about early childhood?
The children of course!!! The happiness that I feel when a child has reached a new milestone or has successfully mastered a new skill has not diminished during the 35 years I have worked with children. The joy on their faces, the hugs, the questions, their thirst for knowledge, and the exuberance they have for everything. There are so many reasons to love early childhood.
What makes your school unique?
The family atmosphere…We are a small center that feels warm and inviting. With being a smaller center, we are able to really form bonds with the families. Many of our staff have been here for over 15 years.
What is your favorite children’s book?
“Love You Forever”, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar”, “Oh, The Places You’ll Go!”, and “The Giving Tree”

Our Apple Valley early childhood center is open Monday-Friday every day with the exception of nine holidays:
*On Christmas Eve, New Horizon Academy closes at 3:00 p.m.
*If one of these holidays falls on a weekend, it will be observed on either Friday or Monday.
*Our school will remain open during inclement weather to ensure children still have access to quality childcare.
Our Apple Valley school offers both full-time and part-time schedules to accommodate the different needs of our families.

Yes! At New Horizon Academy Apple Valley (Cedar Ave), we have an on-site cook trained in nutrition, USDA guidelines, and proper portions for young children. Our school provides nutritious and nourishing meals every day including breakfast, lunch, and snack. All meals are included in the cost of tuition.
If your child has a special nutritional need, a food allergy, or requires adaptation to our menu, please alert our school director, and we will partner with your family to create a suitable meal plan.
