As a mother of a new kindergartener, I couldn’t be more pleased with our experience with New Horizon Academy’s pre-k program. Not only was my son prepared for kindergarten, but he is excelling! Thank you so much to the exceptional teachers at New Horizon Academy.

— Kerri M., Parent at New Horizon Academy, West Des Moines, IA

I felt my child was 100% ready for kindergarten, thanks in great part to his time at New Horizon Academy. At his elementary school conference, his teacher told me his writing is ‘unheard of’ for a kindergartener – I give the New Horizon Academy curriculum tons of credit for this!

— Sean T., Parent at New Horizon Academy, St. Paul, MN

Our daughter is now 4 and in the pre-k class, and she has the absolute best teachers who know just how to encourage, engage, and challenge our kiddo. She is learning so much in her classroom and loves coming to school every day!

— Allysa C., Parent at New Horizon Academy, Broomfield, CO

Our kids love going to school every day! The curriculum New Horizon Academy uses has helped our kids learn age-appropriate skills and challenges them (our prekindergartner loves to boast that he knows more Spanish than I do!). It’s going to be very hard moving on when our kids start elementary school, knowing how deeply they’ve connected with all the amazing teachers and directors!

— Veronica S., Parent at New Horizon Academy, Bloomington, MN

We have had a great pre-k experience at New Horizon Academy! Our daughter loves her teachers, and they apply a better curriculum than most other places we have looked into, including school-district-run pre-k. There is a great mix of fundamentals we can build on at home. We talk to lots of friends about their preschools and nothing has convinced me that our daughter could be better served elsewhere.

— Bryan N., Parent at New Horizon Academy, Burnsville, MN

Both of my children attended preschool here, and I can’t say enough wonderful things! They truly felt like a second family. My kids entered kindergarten more than ready, and it’s been a breeze of a transition! I especially loved the small class sizes!

— Amy H., Parent at New Horizon Academy, Bloomington, MN

Frequently Asked Questions

While both preschool and pre-K programs help prepare children for kindergarten, the main difference between the programs is the age of the children.

Typically, children will transition from the toddler classroom into the preschool classroom. Then, they will move into the prekindergarten classroom when they reach the final year before they enter kindergarten.

Pre-K is typically considered the year before entering kindergarten. Children’s exact ages may vary depending on when they start kindergarten, but most prekindergartners are between 4 and 5 years old.

New Horizon Academy tuition is carefully determined by all of the factors that are included in providing a premier service. Those variables include:

  • Location
  • Age and number of children enrolled
  • Days per week childcare is needed

Because pre-K costs are dependent on these unique circumstances, there is no fixed price that is universally applicable to all families. The New Horizon Academy in your community is the best resource for information regarding the care and services offered. Our director will meet with you to learn about the individual desires of your family and help offer solutions that best meet your needs. You can reach your local director by phone, email, or scheduling a tour.
