We have been serving Burnsville and Apple Valley children and families since 1988. I’m from a small town in the Philadelphia suburbs and moved to Minnesota with my family in 2013. Along with having a Bachelors of Science in Human Development and Family Studies from Penn State University, I also have a degree in Pastry Arts from Bucks County Community College Culinary Arts Program. On the weekends, my daughter and I love to find new places to explore and hike.

What do you like about early childhood?
I love seeing the expressions on the children’s faces when the light bulb goes off, and they finally figure out something they have been working on.
What makes your school unique?
All of our educators bring a personal and creative approach to teaching, fostering a warm, family-like environment that welcomes and includes our center families in everything we do. We are proud to have a diverse population of both students and teachers, reflecting our community’s rich cultures. Our school partners with local organizations from various backgrounds and celebrates diversity through activities and events that highlight different cultures and traditions.

Our Burnsville early childhood center is open Monday-Friday every day with the exception of nine holidays:
*On Christmas Eve, New Horizon Academy closes at 3:00 p.m.
*If one of these holidays falls on a weekend, it will be observed on either Friday or Monday.
*Our school will remain open during inclement weather to ensure children still have access to quality childcare.
Our Burnsville school offers both full-time and part-time schedules to accommodate the different needs of our families.

Yes! At New Horizon Academy Burnsville (35E), we have an on-site cook trained in nutrition, USDA guidelines, and proper portions for young children. Our school provides nutritious and nourishing meals every day including breakfast, lunch, and snack. All meals are included in the cost of tuition.
If your child has a special nutritional need, a food allergy, or requires adaptation to our menu, please alert our school director, and we will partner with your family to create a suitable meal plan.
