Full Circle: New Horizon Academy Alumna Returns as a Parent

At New Horizon Academy, the connections we build don’t end when children graduate. For some families, those bonds come full circle, just like they did for Alex Casey. Once a New Horizon Academy student herself, Alex is now a parent, watching her 18-month-old daughter, Ava, thrive in the very same nurturing environment that shaped her own early years.
A Foundation Built on Relationships
Alex’s parents always spoke fondly of their decision to enroll her at New Horizon Academy. It was more than just a daycare; it was a place where relationships thrived. Alex remembers those strong connections between herself and her teachers fondly, even serving as a junior bridesmaid at one of her teachers’ weddings.
Those connections left a lifelong impression and were a big reason why, years later, she didn’t hesitate when looking for care for Ava.
Little Details, Big Impact
When touring the school as a parent, Alex noted how much she loved the teachers. “The facility was really great, and we loved that she gets to go outside almost every day,” she says. “That was a huge thing for us. And from the very beginning, we felt so taken care of.”
One of the moments that confirmed their decision happened on Ava’s first day. At just three months old, she came home with a painted handprint art project. Alex and her husband were amazed. “There’s no way we would’ve done that at home,” she recalls. While being such a small gesture, it spoke volumes about the care, creativity, and thoughtfulness Ava would receive.
These little moments continued to add up. Ava thrived, not just in developmental milestones, but socially and emotionally as well. Being around other children and teachers taught her how to share, self-regulate her emotions, and find ways to express herself. At home, Alex noticed Ava was more adaptable, and better at navigating big feelings with growing confidence.
Creating New Memories, Together
For Alex, what continues to stand out most about New Horizon Academy is the people. The teachers aren’t just caregivers – they’re partners, educators, and trusted figures in her daughter’s life. Whether navigating toddler troubles or new routines, Ava always seems to know someone will be there to help her through it.
Returning to New Horizon Academy wasn’t just a decision rooted in the past. For Alex and her husband, it was about giving their daughter the same safe, loving and enriching start that she had. In doing so, she isn’t just revisiting old memories, she’s creating beautiful ones side by side with her daughter.
